It has average to below average scores in each of the subcategories, including Best for Customer Service, Best for Claims Handling, and Most Likely to be Recommended. Study data indicate that Allstate auto insurance rates are some of the most expensive among the insurers we reviewed, with the average rate being 33% higher than the national average.
Allstate Customer Service
Based on our survey data, Allstate ranks #6 in our Best for Customer Service category. Forty-six percent of customers who have filed a claim say they are completely satisfied with the ease of filing a claim and the service provided. Satisfaction scores increase among respondents who have filed a claim. Of that group, 50% say they are completely satisfied with the ease of contacting customer service, while 47% say they are satisfied with the service provided.
Allstate Claims Handling
Allstate ranks #7 in our Best for Claims Handling. About half of all respondents say they are completely satisfied with how easy it was to file a claim, and 45% say the same about the status updates they received during the process. Forty-six percent of respondents say they are completely satisfied with how their claim was resolved.
Allstate Customer Loyalty
Customer loyalty refers to the likelihood that a respondent will renew their policy and recommend their insurer to other drivers seeking coverage. According to the survey results, Allstate ranks seventh in our Best for Customer Loyalty category.
Among respondents who have not filed a complaint, 44% say they are very likely to repeat their complaints and 37% say they are very likely to recommend Allstate to other drivers. For respondents who have filed a claim, 38% said they would recommend Allstate to someone looking for insurance, and 46% said they would renew their Allstate policy.
